..happy birthday, dada..

dear finn,

today we celebrate the birth of one of our favorite people to ever walk this planet......dada!! he turns 30 years old today. 30! holy moly, he sure is climbin' up there in years, isn't he?! lol, just kidding. ;) well, because i have been deathly ill, unfortunately i kind of dropped the ball when it comes to birthday plans. i did muster enough energy to drive to kneaders and buy him a birthday breakfast to go. their french toast is to.die.for!! dad had a busy day of work though, so we didn't get to spend much time with him this morning.

grandma cindy came over before dinner to drop off dad's present and cake. she made him this beautiful and delicious chocolate rum cake. mmm mmmm. while she was here i ran to the store (well, not literally, i drove..) to get dad a few things for his b-day. i got some balloons...i wanted to get thirty, one for every year alive on this earth, but the lady working the balloon desk said for an order that big i needed to call it in advance. lame. so i settled on 15. i also got a bunch of candy to make him a candy gram, then hurried home and got to work on it before dad came home. this was the final product, and i'm positive dad loved it! i must say, i was proud of my handiwork and creativity. :)
we made plans to go to dinner with gpa&gma jeff and wendy, dana, and grandma cindy. nanny goat decided to sit it out. dad wanted to go to rodizio grill, which was just fine with me because i have been craaaving meat ever since i found out my eggo was preggo. :) and it sure did satisfy that craving. during dinner you sat by dad and grandpa jeff, and by the end of the night, you wouldn't let go of grandpa jeff! when grandma cindy came to give you a hug and say goodbye to you, you wouldn't go to her! that was a first, and i think it would have made her feel bad if she didn't know you love her tons. :) you wouldn't come to me (which, let's be honest, isn't that surprising) and you wouldn't go to dad, either! now that is surprising!
after dinner we came home, ate some cake, put you to bed and ended the night watching the bachelor. even though it wasn't that exciting of a day, i still hope dad had a happy 30th birthday, and knows how much we all love him. i don't know what we would do without him in our lives, and look forward to the many, many birthdays to come.

love,
mom
