just weeks after you started crawling (around 6 1/2 months), you also started standing. standing in your crib, on the stairs, on the couch, on the coffee table....anything that could help you stand, you would use for support. well, the past few weeks you have started standing on your own, for very brief periods of time (like a few seconds). even though it wasn't for long, it was still very exciting when you started doing this, and i knew it wouldn't be long before you started completely standing on your own.
well, today we were just chillin' on the floor in mine and dad's bedroom. i think i was standing you up so i could put your sweatshirt on you, and guess what?? i backed away from you and you just stood there...by yourself...for like 30 seconds!!!!! it was so exciting. i could tell that you were figuring out how to balance by yourself, and you were doing such a good job at it! when you finally fell over, i stood you back up again, and you did it again!!! you did it like three or four more times, all for increasing lengths of time. i was so proud. :) i think having something in your hands was helping you balance, and i also think your cool new shoes may have helped a bit too. ;)
