you have been learning new tricks this week kiddo, and perfecting old ones. i really can't believe how smart you, you seem very advanced for your age.
this past week you have become an expert at standing. you still love to crawl all over...you are very active and curious about everything around you, which i love. you used to crawl to the outlets in the wall, vents in the floor and cords to check them out. you still do those things, but now you have been charting new territories, and exploring in new ways....standing on everything. you crawl to your toys and try to use them to stand up. you stand up on the ledge of the fireplace and try to touch the glass, or reach for the stockings which are now hanging from the mantle. you love to crawl to the shelf in the entertainment center and use that to help you stand up on it. problem is, you don't yet know how to get back down after you have stood up, so you kind of get stuck in certain positions (unless you accidentally fall over) which can sometimes be pretty funny actually. :)
yesterday - november 17 - you crawled up the stairs for the first time! you have crawled to the stairs before, and tried to figure out how to get up them. but you only got as far as placing your two hands on the second step up, then you kind of gave up. well yesterday you figured out how to use your feet to push your legs up, and how to use your hands in coordination with your feet. it was a rather amazing experience to watch, and i can't believe you have figured it out at only 7 months old! i used my phone as a tool to help entice you up each step, and it worked like a charm. you crawled from the living room downstairs to the middle floor in about 10 minutes (which i thought was rather impressive, considering it was your first time). we practiced five or six more times througout the day, and your time became progressively faster. you are now a seasoned pro my dear...kinda freaks me out! ;)
also for the first time yesterday, you gave me kisses! i say "give me a kiss baby finn" quite frequently, and of course i always lean in and kiss those adorable lips of yours. but yesterday i waited to see if you'd respond...and you did! you leaned in to me and gave me a kiss. it was actually more like mouth to mouth resuscitation haha...it was a very open-mouthed kiss on your part, but i am positive you were giving me kisses, and i gotta say, i LOVE it! makes me feel so loved.
i guess i just need to get over the fact that you are growing up so fast. i know for the rest of my life i will be thinking to myself how sad it is that this all happens so fast, so from now on i just need to make sure to live in the moment and enjoy every step you crawl, every kiss you give me and every moment of every day.
