dear finn,
the whole reason we were going to the bay area in the first place was for aunt tiffany's wedding! now, we love aunt tiff very much. she is such a great example to everyone, she is so beautiful and seems to have everything figured out. she is very responsible and mature, she knows where she is going and what she is doing. she is very faithful in the gospel and true to what she believes. she had a very profound influence on your dad and i am grateful to her every day for the role model she is to so many people around her.
ever since i have known your aunt tiff she has caught the eye of many men. like i said, she is so pretty, very confident and she is a lawyer. all these things make her quite the catch! no guy ever seemed to be good enough for her, though. she would go on tons of dates when she lived in utah, but for one reason or another, she never liked any of the guys enough to keep them around for very long. then she moved to san fran, and for the first year or so things were the same...would go on a date every now and then but never found anyone she liked. she was also incredibly busy for work and just didn't have time to spare on people she knew she wasn't interested in.
finally, finally she met someone who fit the bill. old enough, handsome enough, professional and a good lds boy. "pixar," as she called him (since he works for the animation company, pixar) was her home teacher and i think she was smitten by him from day one. when she came home for christmas last year she told us about this strapping young man, and from the sparkle in her eyes i could tell she was in love and i said to her, dead serious i said this, "i think you are going to marry him." and marry him she did! they got engaged back in january. your dad and i were the first to find out about this blessed engagement, and we couldn't be happier for her.
dad and i met uncle pix back in april, just two days before you were born! you were supposed to be here by then, but you just decided to take your sweet time coming into this world, so they missed you by about 8 hours! they were eating breakfast at our house the day you were born...i was having contractions the entire time. unfortunately they had a plane to catch, so they had to wait until their wedding day to meet you. :) uncle pix is such a great guy and we are so happy to see aunt tiff so in love.
the wedding ceremony in the temple was beautiful. the temple president sealed them, and he happened to be president howard w. hunter's son. he talked a lot about family and posterity and sacrificing for your children...all things that had been on my heart and mind from the day before. it was beautiful. later that night they had a beautiful reception at their home. you screamed through the ring ceremony, so unfortunately we saw none of that. oh well. ;)
even though our journey out there was horrendous, i am still happy we were able to be there for aunt tiffany and uncle kevin on their special day. :)
love,
mom
