dear baby finn,
last year after you were born (you were only six days old, in fact) we took you to get your pictures taken by the talented paige davis. your newborn pictures are some of my very favorites, and i don't regret for a second taking you to do them when you were so new and fresh from heaven. i plan on doing them for all your siblings as well. :)
anyway, now that you are almost one year old (i know, i'll try and control the tears) i figured it was time to take you to get your pictures taken again. we need documentation of how much you've grown in the past year, and even though i take tons of pictures of you, there is just something about having a professional do them that makes them even more special. also, it is customary when you are one to do a "cake smash," and we definitely wanted paige to capture it. :)
we did some pictures in her studio, and some in an orchard. now, i had warned paige in an email that you are a little stinker for the camera and do not smile. as the last person to take your pictures (kelly sansom) said, "you are a tough nut to crack." paige was pretty confident that she could get you to smile, but i'm pretty sure you only smiled for one in the studio. one!!! seriously child, it kills me that you won't smile for the camera. nevertheless, i'm still glad we did it. the cake smash pics were hilarious!!! not that i was surprised, because it's no secret you have a major sweet tooth, but you loved your cake and did not hesitate to dig into it. for those pictures alone, i am glad we did it.
after the studio we went to the orchard to take some family pictures, and some pictures of you in your adorable easter outfit. we got you to smile a little more while we were there, so i am hopeful that they turned out cute. in the meantime, we'll really have to work on smiling for the camera before your baby brother or sister gets here...because that will be the next time we go in for some pictures. :)
after our pictures we all (you, grandma, dad and me) went to cafe rio to chow down....something about smiling that much must make us all hungry! ;) love ya finners!
love,
mom
